In short
Sabre closed TripCase on 1 April 2025 and deleted the trips stored in it, so there's nothing to move across: you rebuild upcoming trips from your confirmation emails in a new app. TripIt is the closest like-for-like replacement for business travel, because it also turns forwarded booking emails into an itinerary. For holidays, especially with family, Travary is built around each day of the trip, with tickets offline and the plan shared on iPhone and Android. It's coming soon to both stores.
Disclosure: we make Travary. Facts about other apps come from their own listings and independent reviews, checked in October 2026.
What happened to TripCase?
TripCase was a free itinerary app from Sabre, the travel technology company. Many people got it through a travel agent, because trips booked through Sabre could appear in it automatically, and others forwarded their own confirmation emails to it. Sabre announced that it was retiring the app to focus on its business-to-business products, and switched it off on 1 April 2025. Its notice said trip and traveller data would be deleted as part of closing it down.
So if you're looking for a TripCase replacement now, there's no export to import. The good news is that rebuilding the next trip takes a few minutes, because the source of truth was always your booking emails and PDFs, not the app.
The replacements, compared
| App | Closest to TripCase because… | Different because… | Platforms |
|---|---|---|---|
| TripIt | Builds an itinerary from forwarded booking emails; a Pro plan adds flight alerts | Pro costs about US$49 a year | iPhone, Android, web |
| Travary | One place for every booking, in order, with tickets offline and flight alerts with a pass | No email forwarding: type bookings in or read them from a screenshot or PDF | iPhone, Android (coming soon) |
| Wanderlog | Shared trip plans | A planning tool with maps, more than a booking organiser | iPhone, Android, web |
| Tripsy | A polished itinerary app | Apple devices only | iPhone, iPad, Mac |
| KDE Itinerary | Free and open source | Mainly for Linux and Android; reads tickets on the device | Android, Linux |
| Airline apps and your phone's wallet | Boarding passes and flight changes for that airline | One airline at a time, no itinerary | Built in |
Which one should a TripCase user choose?
- You travelled for work and liked emails turning into an itinerary: TripIt is the nearest match.
- You used TripCase for holidays, often with family: Travary, which lays each day out, keeps tickets offline and shares one plan with up to six people on iPhone and Android.
- Your travel agent's bookings used to appear by themselves: ask the agent to email you the itinerary or the e-ticket receipts, then add them to whichever app you pick.
- You only need boarding passes: your airline's app and your phone's wallet are enough.

Rebuilding your next trip in five minutes
- Find the confirmations
Search your email for "booking", "confirmation", "e-ticket" and "itinerary". Booking references and times are all in there.
- Start with the next trip only
There's no need to rebuild the past. Add what's coming up, nearest first.
- Add the tickets as files
Save each PDF or boarding pass with its booking so it opens offline. In Travary, Smart Import reads a screenshot or PDF into a booking for you to check.
- Keep boarding passes in your wallet too
A pass in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet is a free backup. See do I need to print my boarding pass?
Lessons from TripCase closing
An itinerary app can close, so keep the originals: the confirmation emails and PDFs are what matter. An app worth trusting keeps your tickets on your phone, so they still open if the service has a bad day, and shouldn't lock what you've already put in.
